Tire Tips

Inflation: Proper tire pressure is critical for vehicle handling, fuel economy, and even tread-wear. Check your tires at least once a month and before long trips. Use an accurate air pressure gauge. Always check tire pressure when tires are "cold." Tires will be cold when the vehicle has been driven less than one mile or when the vehicle has been parked for at least three hours. Your vehicle's recommended tire air pressure can generally be found on a placard inside the driver's door or in your owner's manual. If you cannot find this information, feel free to call Wertenberger Tire for assistance.

Rotation: The purpose of tire rotation is to minimize uneven or rapid tread-wear caused by maintaining a tire in the same position over an extended period of time. Tires should be rotated at intervals suggested by the tire manufacturer, or every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. Many people choose an easy way to remember a rotation schedule such as every other oil change or every 6,000 miles.

Evaluation: Periodically look at your tire sidewalls and tread areas. Should you notice any bulges or uneven wear patterns, have the tire inspected immediately by a tire professional.
